It was the beginning of January 2024 and Lauren was watching that evening’s Prize Paradise live cash draw on Facebook. As Dan read the winning combination of colour and number aloud, Lauren thought it sounded familiar. Then she heard her name! It actually was her ticket! She quickly commented in the live chat and waited for Dan to call her, still in shock.
When Dan did call, Lauren told him she was by herself and needed to tell someone to celebrate! The money greatly impacted Lauren’s life, in the best way possible: “I’d been steadily saving for IVF. It’s difficult trying to save up for something so precious. Lauren continued: “I’d had some big things to pay for, like a tooth extraction that cost £2,000. I thought I’m never going to be able to do it. When you’re saving and you have to pay out for big things, it puts you back, it’s so deflating.” But then of course, Lauren won with us: “The prize money gave me back everything I’d paid out and more. I could move forward with my IVF!”
Amazing to think that simply buying a few tickets for an online competition meant Lauren could fulfil her lifelong dream. After the win in January, the IVF process started pretty much straight away. Donors can be used for a limited number of times, so this was great news for Lauren. There is always a risk that the chosen one is no longer available. Lauren explains: “Once you have a donor ready you have to move right away in case you lose them”. This was not the case for Lauren, as thanks to her win with us, she could start the process immediately. In fact, after the initial tests, medications and usual procedures, by the time May came around, Lauren was pregnant! Her IVF had been successful on the first round. At Paradise HQ we call that fate!
So, a year after winning £5k in our prize draw, in January 2025 Lauren became a proud mum to Freya. We are beaming with pride too, we love a happy story! It doesn’t get much better than helping someone fulfil their dreams – especially when that dream is motherhood.
Since then, Lauren has been so busy being a mummy she hasn’t had much time to play Prize Paradise competitions. “I like to play and watch the live draws as they happen and never seem to find the time anymore.” Well that’s no surprise!
