There are some events that are about far more than football. Recently, members of the Prize Paradise team attended a charity football match held in memory of Henry Nowak, with all funds raised going to 2Wish, a charity that provides vital bereavement support to families affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young adult aged 25 or under.
Dan pulled on his boots to take part in the match, while Danielle was there cheering from the sidelines alongside hundreds of supporters who came together for an incredibly important cause.
As a team, Ryan and Dan also donated £2,000 to 2Wish, helping the charity continue providing support to families facing some of life’s most difficult moments.
For everyone at Prize Paradise, it was a privilege to play a small part.
2Wish is a UK charity dedicated to ensuring that anyone affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young adult receives the emotional and practical support they need.
The charity works closely with families during an unimaginable time, providing immediate bereavement support while helping them navigate the difficult weeks and months that follow.
Its work reaches far beyond financial assistance. It offers comfort, guidance and a compassionate network for families who suddenly find themselves facing life without someone they love.
For many families, that support can make an enormous difference.
The day wasn’t about competition. It was about remembering Henry, supporting his family and raising money to help other families who may sadly face similar circumstances in the future.
The atmosphere reflected exactly what community should look like. Friends, families, local businesses and supporters all came together with one shared purpose.
Hundreds of people attended throughout the day, demonstrating just how much Henry meant to those around him and how willing people are to support causes that genuinely matter.
Moments like these remind us that kindness still brings communities together.
Reflecting after the event, Dan said:
“It’s a shame that such devastating circumstances have to bring people together like this. But these days also show the good in humanity. It was a fantastic turnout. Hundreds of people came along to support such an amazing cause, and we were happy to be there in support and do our little bit to contribute.”
His words perfectly captured the feeling shared by so many people there.
While nobody would ever wish for the reason behind the event, seeing an entire community rally together in support of one another was genuinely inspiring.
