More powerful
Apple Watch Series 9 is more capable, intuitive and faster. The dual-core CPU has 60 per cent more transistors than the S8 chip. A four-core Neural Engine processes machine learning tasks up to two times faster, enabling a number of innovations …including double tap.

Double Tap
Gestures make Apple Watch even easier to use anytime, especially when your hands are full. Just double tap your index finger and thumb together to answer a call, open a notification, play and pause music, and more. It’s a bit like magic, at your fingertips. (Double Tap feature is available late 2023).

Brilliant, brighter display
The advanced display system in Series 9 boosts the maximum brightness up to 2,000 nits (double that of Series 8) so it’s easier to read in full sun. It’s also better in low‑light situations, like a cinema, because it dims to just 1 nit.

Sleep insights
The Sleep app doesn’t just keep track of your time asleep. It shows you how much time you spent in REM, Core or Deep sleep, as well as when you might have woken up.

Crash detection
We hope you’ll never need this innovation. Apple Watch Series 8 is able to detect if you’re in a severe car crash. When a crash is detected, Crash Detection can automatically connect you with emergency services, provide dispatchers with your location and notify your emergency contacts.*

Blood oxygen
Apple Watch Series 9’s blood oxygen sensor incorporates LEDs and photodiodes in the back crystal. You can easily take readings of your blood oxygen, or let the watch capture background readings, day and night, to provide this key indicator of your overall wellness.

Workout
Squat, spin, stride, you name it…Apple Watch has a workout for it in the Workout app. And with Workout Views, you’ll be able to see more advanced metrics at a glance, like Heart Rate Zones and customised intervals to keep you going strong.
